Lead Instructor - LTA Summer Camp

Location: Columbus, OH

Primary Function

A Lead Instructor is responsible for the successful execution of daily operational tasks and educational programming that takes place in their designated art discipline classroom. This includes delivering learning objectives, facilitation, creation, and implementation of curriculum and conduct age-appropriate activities that nurture children’s curiosity, understanding and appreciation of the performing and visual arts. The Lead ensures each week’s theme culminates with a mini show. The Lead Instructor is an active participant in all camp activities with the goal of creating a memorable camp experience.

Duties and Responsibilities

Duties vary and or dependent on assigned area. Duties may include:

  • Develops and delivers creative and fun, theme-inspired classroom instruction.
  • Maintains classroom management.
  • Shows enthusiasm and encourages campers to get involved in all camp activities.
  • Collaborate with other Lead Instructors, camp staff and students in rehearsing and performing their end of the week mini show.
  • Meets change with creativity and flexibility and can create new activities quickly.
  • Assist in documenting all injuries and incidents that occur during summer camp and provides basic first aid to campers as required
  • Serves as a role model and monitors the health, safety, and welfare of children Communicating frequently with the Program Manager.
  • Attending necessary training sessions.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Representing The Lincoln Theatre in the best possible light through a high standard of professionalism, conduct, and appropriate dress.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Verbal and written communication Skills
  • Ability to apply both learned and experiential knowledge to the development of children
  • Ability to collaborate with diverse disciplines.

Credentials and Experience

  • 2+ years’ experience working with children and/or youth preferred.
  • Provides 3-5 work vitae that exhibits high knowledge and skill in chosen artform

Special Requirements

This position will require a satisfactory background check for 18 and older. Minors will require Parental Consent and Work Permit.
