Activities Assistant - LTA Summer Camp

Location: Columbus, OH

Primary Function

The Activities Assistant implements age-appropriate activities that nurture children’s curiosity, understanding and appreciation of the performing and visual arts. The Activities Assistant is an active participant in all camp activities with the goal of creating a memorable camp experience for campers while having fun. Activities Assistant interact with campers throughout the entire day, helping them make friends, try new things, and caring for their well-being.

Duties and Responsibilities

Duties vary and or dependent on assigned area. Duties may include:

  • Supporting Lead and Assistant Instructors in different classes as assigned by the Program Manager.
  • Shows enthusiasm and encourages campers to get involved in all camp activities.
  • Assisting the Lead and Assistant Instructors and students in rehearsing and performing their end of the week mini show.
  • Meets change with creativity and flexibility and can create new activities quickly.
  • Reviewing class material with students.
  • Escorting students between classrooms and other locations during the camp day or class.
  • Organizes and maintains all camp equipment, supplies and camp areas.
  • Serves as a role model and monitors the health, safety, and welfare of children Communicating frequently with the Interim Education Director.
  • Attending necessary training sessions.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Representing The Lincoln Theatre in the best possible light through a high standard of professionalism, conduct, and appropriate dress.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Verbal Communication Skills
  • Ability to apply both learned and experiential knowledge to the development of children
  • Ability to collaborate with diverse disciplines.

Credentials and Experience

  • 0-2 years’ experience working with children and/or youth preferred.

Special Requirements

This position will require a satisfactory background check for those 18 and older. Minors will require Parental Consent and Work Permit.
